Records Division

The Records Division’s primary mission is to receive, integrate, compile, maintain, disseminate, and file all departmental reports and information. One of the primary responsibilities of the record division is to distribute current information and reports, along with all supporting documents to other divisions of the police department, as well as to the public, courts, and state and federal agencies pursuant to state statute.

Police Reports
It is the goal of the Mendon Police Department to provide the public with access to all information defined as public, by law or regulation while maintaining the confidentiality of information exempted from release. All requests will receive a response from the records division within 10 business days. Records can be requested in person at the Mendon Police Department headquarters or online through our Public Records Request page.

Crash Reports
Before attempting to obtain a copy of a crash report, please ensure you have completed out the Massachusetts Operator Crash Report and have submitted a copy to our agency. Once you have completed that form, you can request a copy of the officer’s crash reports in person at the Mendon Police Department headquarters or online through our Records Request page.

Sex Offenders
Level 3 sex offenders are public information and are posted on our Level 3 Sex Offender page. Level 2 sex offenders can be viewed in person at the Mendon Police Department headquarters upon request. Level 1 sex offenders are confidential and are not available to the public.

To request detailed sex offender registry information, you can complete a Request for Sex Offender Registry Information and submit it to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry board at P.O. Box 4547, Salem, MA 01970, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
