What You Need

How to apply

Complete a Firearms Application (New / Renewal).
Schedule an Appointment. Appointments must be scheduled online. Walk-In’s are not accepted.
Do not drop off your check or application ahead of time, you must have these with you at your scheduled appointment.

Inquires regarding the status of your application should be directed to the Massachusetts Firearms Records Bureau at (617) 660-4722.

Application for a New Class A License to Carry

- - - Complete a Firearms Safety Course by a Certified Safety Instructor
    - Fill out application form completely
    - Schedule an appointment online.
    - On the date of your appointment, bring a $100.00 Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Mendon along with your completed application and a copy of your safety course. (Do not drop off prior to your appointment)

Renewal of a Class A License to Carry

- - - Fill out application form completely.
    - Schedule an appointment online.
    - On the date of your appointment, bring a $100.00 Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Mendon along with your completed application. (Do not drop off prior to your appointment)
    - No Fee for Persons age 70 and over.

Application for a New FID Card License to Carry

- - - Complete a Firearms Safety Course by a Certified Safety Instructor
    - Fill out application form completely.
    - Schedule an appointment online.
    - On the date of your appointment, bring your completed application, copy of your safety course, as well as a check or money order for the assessed fee. (Do not drop off prior to your appointment)
    - Under Age 18: $25.00 Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Mendon.
    - Age 18 and Over: $100.00 Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Mendon.

Renewal of a FID Card License to Carry

- - - Fill out application form completely.
    - Schedule an appointment online
    - On the date of your appointment, bring your completed application, as well as a $100.00 Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Mendon. (Do not drop off prior to your appointment)
    - No Fee for Persons age 70 and over.

Check the Status of your application

The Mendon Police Department cannot check the status of your firearms licensing application. Applicants should call the Massachusetts Firearms Records Bureau at (617) 660-4722.
