Although Mendon’s Annual Memorial Day Parade is cancelled, the Mendon Police Department will be holding a Memorial Day Convoy and will bring the parade to you! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public ceremonies will not be held at War Monuments throughout town. The convoy will feature first-responder emergency vehicles and vehicles from other participating agencies.
We invite our community to come out from a safe social distance on their front lawns to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country. We especially want to remember those veterans at the Roger L. Wood Post #355 who usually hold the Memorial Day Parade. We encourage our community to participate in the event by displaying American Flags, signs of patriotism, or through signage honoring the loved ones you have lost.
We will be streaming the convoy live on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, at 10:00 am on Facebook and on our Community Photo Gallery for all to join remotely. Share your photos and videos through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by tagging the Mendon Police Department and using hashtag #MendonRemembers .
We hope you will join us in commemorating this day in a safe and healthy manner.
